Sam got really sick last night...I stayed up with him all night and tried to make hime comfortable. But he died at 4:50 this morning. I was laying in bed with him trying to comfort him because I knew he was in pain and then he took a long breathe and just went limp in my arms this was never supposed to happen. I was supposed to tkae care of him and protect him but I didn't....He didn't deserve this. It's just not fair

oh..i am so sorry...i waited all day for your post to see what happened...please make sure you speak to your vet to find out what happened..i know it won't bring him back to you but maybe they can offer some type of an explanation..

it shouldn't have happened...but it does..sometimes dogs just like people can have reactions to the meds we give them..i stop breathing when gived one of the basic asthma medicines...

he knows he was loved...he knows you cared..& held him...& watched over him...& now he is pain free & running (and worm free as well)

it is not your fault...you did what you thought was best for him..he might have had other medical conditions ongoing, & he had a reaction to the wormer...nothing was your fault. nothing

be gentle to yourself.

again i am so so sorry.

safe passage sam, fly free & welcome home.

I'm so sorry Undertaker. I know the loss of a beloved dog. May the his love surround you in this time of sadness and loss. I agree with Stumpy you did nothing wrong.

He knew he was loved. you held him, loved him, cared for him, gave him the best of you and he knew it.

Let yourself grieve. cry, yell, do whatever is right for you. My prayers are going out to you and your pup.

I picture him playing joyfully with all the others wherever they go healthy, happy and free to be young and healthy forever. That's where my Beethoven, Easter, and Sabre are.

I am so sorry. Many prayers coming your way.

(((Undertaker))) I don't know you but am so, so sorry for your loss.

Only pet lovers can understand our love & therefore our need to grieve.

You did your best & gave him the sweetest passing in your loving arms.

As said above, be kind to yourself, you deserve it.

You will be in my thoughts & prayers.

** hugs & tears ((( Undertaker Sam ))) sitting near **

I'm crying for you and Sam, Undertaker. I know you miss him so, so much. He is with lots of other animals & is okay now. Please try to understand that you saw him through his passing. You were there while he was frightened and in pain, and that's when he really, really needed you. You didn't have much time with him, and that wasn't fair, but he had you when he needed you most. He was so lucky that you were there then.

You have a bunch of us here who have lost out beloved pets. We understand the pain and emptiness and longing to be with them again. We are here to listen anytime.

I'm so sorry. There's something so poignant and painful about the death of an animal you love. They have become part of your life, an extension of your own self, someone who loves you without judgement.

You have my sympathies, I'm so sorry for your loss.

So sorry for your loss. Originally, I wanted to offer hugs but gave a 'thanks' instead. Hope it didn't cause you any more grief.

Again, sorry for your loss and may you be surrounded by living memories.

I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for your support. I appreciate it. I'm doing a little better today than yesterday. I barely cried at school today and I'm not replaying it all in my head constantly. Can't sleep in my room though, too painful since it's where he passed..
Thanks for this!
Sabrina
