Yepp, FINALLY. Zeppelin sat on command. I hope as we practice more, it becomes an automatic thing!
What other tricks should I teach him? |

Teaching them to turn around is really easy. Just lure him in a circle with the treat and when he goes the full 360 give him the treat. do this over and over and all you will have to do is make circular motion with your hand and they will do a circle

teach him to come. the most important thing he will ever need to learn. this way he will always come back to you.
& down is good too. it's easy once sit & mastered when ever you walk in your house with him tell him "house" so he knows this is home. it makes it easy when he gets loose (because he will..they all do..trust me) you can say "house"..sometimes it clicks... i actually say it for the car too...house, car..etc...if they go someplace of mine safe..i don't care..just so they go! This isn't so much a trick as a safety thing. I teach all my dogs that "drop it" means spit out whatever is in your mouth right now!
If you are looking for tricks how about "shake"? |

Yay for you and your pup! Sit is always the first thing I teach any dog coming in to my house.
Some other important commands - Down (or LIE down as it's called at my house) Off (as in, get off of whatever you're on - sofa, bed, counter, kitchen table...etc) Leave it Drop it Stand (stand up on all 4 legs, from a sit or down) Touch (dog touches his nose to your hand - it's a great command to get them to refocus their attention on to you in a highly stimulating environment) Come .....trying to think what else I've taught my puppy recently...... Kennel up (to go in her crate) Wait (same as a stay, but shorter duration) Load up (to jump in the car) Heel Spin Shake Backup (her command is "beep-beep" and means to walk backwards)

Amy once barked excitedly before a treat so I said "say please". She caught on. Now when I say "say please" she barks twice for her treat. It's a great crowd pleaser!
