I give my dog benedryl all the time. No worries on that. I've no clue about the cats, though.

It's okay for them to have bendaryl, I think if you google it you can get a proper dose amount for your pets.

Did they have fleas or did you just expect they did? I haven't used anything on my cats but my female has scabs all around her neck where she has been scratching; I think it is from having tried to change her food: http://www.catchannel.com/experts/ar...eck-scabs.aspx
This vet: http://www.walkervalleyvet.com/otc-meds.htm says benadryl is not very effective in cats?

Hi ((((Seeker)))) poor furry family members! I am sorry
![]() Please seek advice from your veterinarian. There is a specific dosage for benadryl per pound for dogs, and a completely different dosage altogether for cats. Also, if the med is generic it may have different properties, so it really is best to ask your Vet or Vet Tech. How often do you bathe the little ones? (from what I understand, cats really do not need to be bathed. Dogs, on the other hand, can be bathed up to 3x per week but it's important to use the proper shampoo). Also, flea/tick shampoo products are not recommended because they are not very effective: simply treating the immediate problem and do not covering the long-term for a solution (such as a topical flea/tick/mite treatment). Thus, you may be accidentally overbathing with these strong treatments ![]() I hope your "kids" feel better soon! Please let us know how they are doing! ![]() |

As Perna asked, no, they didn't show any fleas, but the two dogs were due for another application of the flea protection, and since the cat was scratching, I thought he needed another application as well. I'll not use the Petarmor again. |

I am really glad to hear they are feeling better! It was worth a try, though, with the bath and makes sense
![]() We pet parents ALWAYS want to do the best thing for our furry family members...I know how much we love them ![]() I found a great brush for Krazeeeee Kitteh ... it works wonders. I think they have them for the pupsters, as well. And then I Revolution him once every 35 - 40 days or so (especially during peak season). ![]() |
