My almost 17 yo cat had an excellent check-up at the vet's this week, including normal blood test results. Hooray! I've been reading up on care of older cats and I find that sometimes he does seem a little confused (do I want a snack or do I want XXX?) and drinks more water (his kidney function is good) and needs a step to climb up to the bed. But overall he's doing really well and this makes me very happy!

I'm glad to hear that! I have had cats who have lived well into their teens. You are a dear to take such good care of your sweetie.

It's awesome that you love your cat so. My cat Zonie will be 16 yrs old this June. she too has had a clean bill of health although she does take thyroid medicine.
