No, I don't think it's ever going to happen, because my mom isn't someone you can persuade. And whenever they say "yeah, we'll talk about it", it really means, "I'll wait until you forget about it." So why bother?

 Maybe you could volunteer at a local shelter in order to be around animals? |

And what ticks me off is that they want to get another dog when they don't take care of the dog they have now nor do they have time for it, all they do is work, sleep, and exercise, they don't have time or money for another dog.

 I think I'm going to wait for the opportune moment to bring it up. Like Christmas or the next time my mom shows me another dog she wants to get that she has no time or money for. |
