We have a new kitty in our family! No, it's not Koko. As far as I have been able to determine, Koko actually belongs to a lady up the street. I think I saw Koko across from her yard recently, but no longer in our yard at all. So I hope that will end up being a happy story.

No, the new kitty is one we are adopting from friends, who can no longer keep him. They rescued him from living behind a grocery store and just got him to the vet before he died from a parasite. He had just come to our house to stay for a bit, but now the owners really have decided he needs a new home. Their daughter has allergies, for one thing. No one else is interested, and he's a skinny, long guy (part Siamese evidently.) I just don't know that anyone would adopt him from the shelter, and after all he's been through, I'd hate for him not to have a chance.

So, we have another black kitty! Our first one, Mimi, died about two years ago at a ripe old age. So, Sammy, welcome to our family!

How wonderful that your friends and you have taken this kitty from a bad situation, and now he has a good home. I'm sure Sammy is one happy little guy.
Thanks for this!

We're not sure of his age. He is still a kitten, though. Less than six months, I think.

If he would like a flame point siamese mix on prozac for aggression as a new friend, lemme know! My cat probably needs a younger buddy to "train" him how to behave (my olders are not having it...and I got him too, too young as he was found at like 4 weeks all alone and has grown up to be quite a little mess at 2 yrs old, albeit gorgeous)...

Can't wait to see your new little guy!
Thanks for this!

Kittens are so comical. I'm glad you got Sammy at a young age. His emotional development will be helped by being adopted while still young.
Thanks for this!

Payne,
I am so glad for you. I love my cat even if she can be finikey (wrong spelling). Nothing like a kitten or cat to cuddle when you are down. Sometimes my cat (a very small full grown siamese) is the only living thing I can communicate with. I love dogs too but cats are special. Congrats on your new friend Sammy!

Congrats on the new kitten!! So much fun to raise from that age, into adulthood. There's something special and bonding about it!

No luck posting safe pics. Will get help later.

Sammy is quite a character. He now has us trained to pick him up, so he can play with the long chains hanging down from the light and fan switches on the ceiling.
