I posted here earlier about Yellow Kitty having this outbreak of feline chin acne. I took him to the vet; he got a shot of steroid + antibiotic. Since then, I've been trying to do all I can for him myself. I've used the aloe wipes suggested by the vet, also over-the-counter acne med (which seemed to help somewhat), limiting the type of food I give him ....no longer giving him milk or canned cat food, instead giving him just dry food, water, and tuna in water. Also, I was adding cephalexin to his tuna, per the vet's recommendation. I stopped all of that in the last few days. The flare-ups seemed to keep coming. In the past few days, the only thing I've done is use saline wound care on a cotton pad to wash his chin. This seems to be helping (or maybe he's just getting better on his own?). I had this saline wound care solution because I had a bad cut with stitches on my shin. When I removed the stitches, it was getting red and hot to the touch. After using this solution, I saw the inflammation disappear, and used it this way over several nights. I also cut my finger while changing the AC filter. I used the same solution several times when the cut was stinging, and now it's all better. This is great stuff! So simple and yet so helpful. It's available in the first aid section of the drug stores.
Yellow Kitty's chin is bald but no longer inflamed-looking. I hope we're past the bad part of this!

So glad to hear he his doing better and that your wound is too. Saline is so very helpful; I keep it on hand as well in a first aid kit here at the house for that reason. Will continue to hope for his improvement; best wishes.

I would like photographs of your cat so I can assess his progress for myself.
Thanks for this!
