I am a huge animal lover. Like, ridiculously.

I own an african pygmy hedgehog named Quillius Caesar, and a little land hermit crab named Ivan. We also own a cat named Sophie. Though, we've always considered Sophie my mom's cat, since MY cat was Zill... But she passed away a few months ago.. v.v .

Anyway, As of right now I'm trying to convince my mother to let me adopt a pair of ferrets from an animal shelter here in town, even though I have maybe a 5% chance of getting them right now.

I love animals because they're my means of escape a lot of the time, and they never find anyone better. They love me for me, not because I'm the best they could get. <3

So now it's your turn.... What pets do you own? What are their names? Describe them? And why do you love animals?

Sorry, I know it's kinda dumb, but I like learning about other people, especially their animals.

Hi Hoggles. Welcome to PC. I love the clever play on words for your hedgehogs name.

I have two dogs, two horses and four cats.

The dogs are Al and Ivan. Al is an elderly yellow Lab. He's not doing very well and likely to not live a whole lot longer. Ivan is a Rottie mix. He has a very old soul.

The horses are Kyote and Mavrick. Both are Thoroughbreds retired for the track.

The cats are Abby, Boomer, Callie and Dobby. Callie is a very elderly lady who was diagnosed with cancer over the summer. Not sure how much longer she has as the tumor is growing. Abby and Dobby are both about three years old. They are not related. I adopted/rescued each of them the same year. Boomer is a middle aged fraidy cat.

Hedgehogs are definitely cute! Though be aware that Ferrets are quite a handful and tend to like stealing stuff! They do best on a raw meat diet.

I've got three animals of my own, one dog and two guinea pigs. I also run a small rescue for guinea pigs and I foster dogs. Animals are definitely very loving, an ear to hear your problems and a distraction. One of my favorite things is training foster dogs. I love training and it's fun to see how amazingly smart they are. It also makes them really good spokes animal for rescue dogs (That they can be just as well behaved and awesome than any other dog)

Sounds like some very cool animals hoggles. I am not allowed animals at this property. Dont have hedgehogs in this country. I am hoping to get another cat when I move to my next place. Animals are great because the dont judge and you can cuddle them. I dont know about hugging hedgehogs or hermit crabs lols but they are cute.

Hi, Hoggles. I have two dogs. One is Abby and she is a Llasa Apso mix that I adopted about 10 years ago, which makes her about 13 now. She is spoiled and has my husband under her control. She is in really good health for her age. The other one is Maltese and his name is Scooter. He is also around 13. I adopted him when he was 10. He is plagued with allergies that affect everything from his skin, ear infection and eye infections. He is starting to show signs of arthritis and other signs of decline. They are both a great comfort to me and my husband.

Hi Hoggles. I have two pitbulls, Lucy and Ruger (mother and son) and a little chihuahua, Amy - the light of my life. I'm afraid that she is in charge of the "adults", as we call the big dogs. They are terrified of her and respect her greatly. She is a tiny force to be reckoned with. Amy sleeps in the bed with us and goes everywhere with us. She truly is the glue that holds us all together. I love her way too much. Sorry "adults", I love you both enormously too.

I have 2 Cavapoo's Brothers at 9 months old and love them to death. names are Charlie and Alfie! They are playful, cheeky, loving and adorable!

Took them to a local dog show and they won most of their classes plus picked up the final trophy at the end! Such a proud mummy right here
