so I've been trying to come up with a good name for a kitten of mine. and I can't seem to hit the 'right' one. below is a pic of him. the names of the other cats I have are Sadie, Bailey, Lucy, and Rusty. this little guy would be the brother of Rusty. I've been thinking of names like Austin, Dexter, Cooper, Nicco, Simon, Parker, or Avery. Anyone got any suggestions or comments or ideas???

I would name the cat "Sandy", for his sand color coat, but that might be too feminine for you.

Aww. What a dear kitty. Okay, you like people-type names. (I had a cat named Donald, after a little boy I liked in third grade!)
Yes, "Sandy" would incorporate a person name as well as his color..... "Cooper" works for me for some reason. ![]() |

I'm liking Cooper as well. Or maybe Copper as he looks a little coppery?

He looks like a Joey or a Daniel to me. Like Daniel Striped Tiger from Mr. Rogers.

I kind of like Cooper, too. Or Dexter.

Zack, Franklin, Beau or ... Breaux! ( pronounced Bro, as in brother of Rusty) ...

Aw what a sweet little ginger Tom cat. He reminds me of a very loving and cuddly lap cat called Toby. But I think Jaffa (brand of Oranges) is a cute name for him.

I think a name not associated with his colour is a start. i like pfrogs breaux. I like Austin, you came up with. Ido like human names for animals or names from nature. I was considering Daniel or Gabriel for my furboy when he first adopted me. He too is in the rusty spectrum.

yes, I did decide on a name. I named him Austin! I am going to attach a picture for all of you to see, as a 'thanks' for the suggestions. In fact, I just took this photo not even an hour ago!
These are my two kittens - Austin is on the left and Rusty is on the right! Can you tell that they are brothers?! Really, the of the few differences is that one is cream/tan and the other is orange/rust in color. Enjoy and thanks again everyone. |

already named, so my two bits worth wouldn't be of much use, but here goes:
I have a cat named Cheyanne (after one of the Native American Tribes that was never defeated) I had a cat named Cherokee (after my ancestors (he is with Creator now)) I have a small greenish grey tabby that when he first arrived looked like a drowned rat, so was named "Rat". 2 good names I have gotten from books: "to Sail Beyond the Sunset" by Robert A. Heinlein: A cat named "Random Numbers" and from the book "Friday" also by Robert Heinlein a tomcat named: "Mr. Underfoot" ( because for a very small cat, he could lay down and completely occupy a very large floor!)
