I wanted to give you an update especially after sticking through this with me.
http://forums.psychcentral.com/our-p...g-surgery.html It has been an interesting eight weeks since she had the TPLO (tibial-plateau-leveling osteotomy) to repair her knee and in keeping her confined since surgery; I just had her 8 week check up. She is putting a good amount of weight on her leg now; the doc thought she was 90% weight bearing, which is better than she expected, typically 75-85% at this point. She is walking with no limp which is so much better than before surgery given she was holding it up all the time and hobbling around like a tripod. Her x-rays showed that her bone has healed. She doesn't have to stay in her crate now; she can be confined to the first floor. To be safe and keep her stabile, I am to just to start increasing her walks from 5-10 minutes that she has been doing to build the muscles up. She still is not to do stairs or get up on the beds or sofas. Next week she can go off lead for a bit and increase her activity each week the next four weeks. It will be nice that she can have more freedom and oh, is she ready, bless her, the bundle of energy that she is. ![]() Thank you again for your support. This was nerve racking and I so appreciated your support, means a lot throughout this process and on this road to recovery. ![]()
