Do you think it is weird that when i get up at my regular feeding time for my cats on the weekend, feed them and go back to bed, they then eat a very little, then eat the rest of their breakfast after i get up for the day (even if it is hours later)? I've been sick so sleeping in a lot on the weekends. And i noticed this the other day too when i was able to sleep in a little during the week. And they will kind of do the same thing when i regularly get up. They will eat a little and then follow me around (shower/dressing etc) until i come out and eat breakfast. I think the day when I slept all day because i was sick they finally at some point must have decide to eat as when i finally got up the food was gone. Any ideas?

We shouldn't eat our cats. My cats also try to convince me that I haven't fed them yet. Doesn't work very well when they haven't eaten the food in their bowl from when I fed them.

Googley, do they come join you in bed when you go back to bed?

Cats are creatures of habit. Maybe they don't eat because that's not the usual routine? I wouldn't worry about it.

BTW, my cats are fed free choice. There is always food available. They will still act like they are starving when I fix myself something to eat!

Um, when I'm going back to bed because i'm feeling sick they come and sleep with me. I was thinking about it more and they do the same thing regular mornings, but they follow my morning routine and so there isn't as much time before when they first eat and when they go back. So maybe this is why I noticed it. It makes me sad that they wont eat until I eat. Especially when I want/need more sleep. I get up and give them food to keep them on the same schedule but apparently they don't feel the need.
