I have always been a dog owner ever since I was growing up. However, now that I live in an apartment, I have a cqt instead and I love her so much, but sometimes she screws with my anxiety. Other times, she calms me. It just depends. It is really complicated. I am confused about how she can be so wonderful at times and so horrible other times...is it just because I'm not used to cats since I have always had a dog?

It could be because you are more intuned with dogs or it could just be the particular cat. I'm a dog person myself but my daughter has two cats and they are as different as night and day. One is very demanding, sometimes cuddly and sometimes outright mean. The other one stays by herself mostly and is a sweatheart, but doesn't cuddle.

I would say its possibly the feline species being very different to canines. Im a cataholic truly and I see huge differences in the behaviour of both. Just what is it exactly that affects you? why does midnight `screw with your anxiety' Im wondering what you mean.
No animal means harm. They dont unlike humans plot how to hurt. Cats can seem 2 sided. Very loving then poof, gone. The words aloof and selfish are often used unfortunately and unfairly. Its not personal at all. They are very honest if they want to hang out they will if they dont, they dont do it to please you. If they dont like someone they dont like they dont like someone. I love this honest and straightforward nature. |

Pheromones can help cat anxiety, you can get it from the vet clinic

Right I see. Excellent suggestion from Krisakira. I dont know what makes her like that without her history or parents or age etc. My kitty is very demanding. He is I want to do this now, now I want to do this and now Ive changed my mind. He runs to the top of the stairs and wowls and yowls to go back into the bedroom after eating no matter what Im doing he wants that door open...so he can go to his posts and cardboard boxes and toy ` I ate now I must go see the scratchy post NOW!!! '
They dont like being confined and told they cant go somewhere and if its into your room Im thinking maybe she wants to join her you...her family. Most people have a hard time keeping kittys out of their sleeping place especially a lone cat. This is interesting: What Do Cats Think About Us? You May Be Surprised |
