I read a post here that claimed 33 bird species had been made extinct due to predation by cats. Hmmm... I think I'll look into that I said. Turns out it's a claim made in a "study" done by some guys at the Uni of Nebraska. These guys sound like cat haters. Not to mention lacking skills in writing

Cats have always been persecuted by society. It's good that we are fighting back on their behalf.

Knowing the impacts on bird populations and especially changing environments being the biggest problem, it is so rare that one factor alone can cause the extinction of any animal let alone a bird population. There are just too many factors. Seems very shady and this coming not just from an animal lover and biologist, but a more of dog person at that.
