Mine have several. A questioning meow. A little "hey look down here... a chin needs scratching" meow. A "make a lap I'm coming up" meow. Others that I haven't interpreted.

Omg! I never knew a cat could have so many different voices. a trill meow and a high pitched "pretty please?" meow and then a different high pitch "put it down already!" Sometimes there will be a few of these quick little mews! Mew! Mew! That's just breakfast. She's a complete one kitty symphony in the morning. It's hard to be a morning person with her around.

My precious soul-mate cat, who died 2 years ago, had so many voices. We had conversations...we'd meow back and forth. It is said that a Siamese cat can have as many as 30 voices.

I read that a cat has something like 300 different noises (calls, meows, miffs, purrs, etc) that it makes, vs say a dog that makes just 100 different noises (barks, kinds of growls, whines, etc). I have no idea how would interpret them all either way, just so many, my vocabulary is just too limited in cat and dog speak, but I do know I am trained in their vocal and body language commands of 'feed me', 'let me out', and 'pet me'.

My wife's cat (a stray who I brought in the house one week after telling the kids "no more animals". lol) has many meows, but after several years of scientific study and finding the Rosetta Stone, they all loosely translate to: "Pet me. Feed me. Worship me. I am your Queen." lol

My Maine Coon kitty is very vocal. He comes in from outside telling me all about it. He's rather dominating in his vocalizations, making it impossible to ignore him. At the same time, he's very sweet and loves affection. The mean neighbor poisoned his sister, but he loves to go outside, and becomes destructive, knocking over lamps if he can't get out. I worry about him, but I do let him out periodically.

There's the purr-meow, or at least that's what I call it.

"Brrrrrr-eow" . . .

I think this must be a mother cat calling her children, because it's usually the female cats who make it, around the time they have kittens.

My cat only has two meows that are not to communicate with me. Both my cats have communication meows that actually mimic human speech, so it is more that they speak my language rather than I need to understand them. My cat has this yowling meow when he needs to vomit... ugh. Also he has a hollow meow when he wants a partner. Then of course he screams if someone steps on his tail (ow) and I assume he can make angry noises too, but never heard that.

I had one cat that would say E-U (the czech pronounciation) when he was hungry/wanted to eat. You could totally hear him saying it.... he'd go Eh-Uuuh much to amusement of anybody in the hearing.

If the cat adds a long "ooo" after the mew, it means URGENT NOW or I'll be very upset. Just a hint.

I couldn't begin to count them. Some that come to mind are the "feed me" meow, the feed me NOW!!!! " meow, the "that d*** mockingbird is on the porch again" meow, the "I've lost my mind and can't find it" meow which is usually accompanied by crashing around the house

You've forgotten the most important meow... The "feed me!" meow

The feed me meow is the cat meowing while climbing up the fly screen window.

I had a total of four cats, two of them ran away, so now I have two left.

Belle was a bit quiet, she only meows if she's hungry or she's threatened by someone she doesn't like.

When I had Jersey, she would not shut up ;_;. Meowing constantly, at me, early in the morning, when she was purring, when she was scared, when Belle was biting her, and when she was throwing up. God I miss that cat T_T

Sealy called out when she wanted to be pet, when she was fighting, in heat, and when she didn't want to be held.

My cat, Scout, that I now live with is very quiet, she only meows when she sees me or when I pet her.

My cat had a "feed me" meow that sometimes sounds like a duck quacking?? She then has her regular "feed me" meow. A "thanks for letting me in chirp" when she's been out. A "get out of my garden" warning sound to next doors cat. A "tickle my belly" squeak and a "love me now" purr

well she's got quite a repertoire indeed
1. for when she is hungry (what cat doesn't)
2. one when she wants me to come to bed..she has pretty much taken over the bed of course
3. one when she is ready to play
4. one really strange one after she eats and she has a strong burst of energy and starts running around the house on a rampage
5. one when she wants attention/neck/head scratched..kind of a meow/purr deal.
6) a weird one when we get thunderstorms and she is afraid

and she has some special situations purrs, some hisses..the new person in the house hiss & you stepped on my tail hiss (oops!) and some other noises i don't even have names for! lol!
