My orange cat Lili is just the sweetest and most lovable cat I have ever had. I also have a guineau pig named Mocha.

When I first got him, Mocha would go to the opposite end of his cage from Lili's curious encroachment. That was almost a year ago. Now they greet other sweetly -
Lili will occassionally come up to Mocha's cage and they touch noses - no fear on either side! Sometimes I take out Mocha and put him on the bed with me and then Lili jumps up on the bed too and they move toward each other and Lili will lick and pet him with her paw. Of course I make sure out-of-cage visits are well supervised.

I'm going to try to make a video clip of this to share.

Yes all this rubbish about cats and dogs not liking each other! My cat loves the dogs. Can't wait to see your video or perhaps some pictures. Thanks for sharing.

I was in a relationship with someone who had a rottie/pitbull mix named Griffin and 3 cats. Fierce dog - yes, very fierce - if you're a burglar - believe me! But very protective of his family - which included the cats. He would not let us get to sleep until all the cats were present and accounted for. He'd beg to be let out then go out and somehow find Bonkers - the nonconformist who was always last - and nudge or bully Bonkers to get back inside so we could all go to sleep. Good memories.

Only one of our cats (up until we put down Elizabeth and before we adopted Aja) ever really interacted with our dog Stella, and that's Ninja. They like to play sometimes. She's a tween dachshund, so she has a lot of loose hound skin. He'll pounce on her and claw her and bite at her jugular and she just jumps around like it's a game. Occasionally she'll squeal if his claws hook her lip or something, but she enjoys it and I think he enjoys it too.

my dog has yet to stop chasing the cats. and to calm down. otherwise, the younger cat would be more willing of approaching her, as he's less shy than the older one.

Hey, thanks for that! I watched it. I didn't shed a tear but I am still grinning.

It's fun to watch animals play. Pets certainly are a gift from heaven.
