Hello All!
I read somewhere that pets are calming and relaxing and can bring peace to an otherwise uncivilized world. I just want to say that I completely agree! My 9 year old golden retriever is my happy place. She calms me when things get too much to handle and she sits beside me and waits for the moment to pass. I hope that your pet brings you that special unconditional love and peace today and always! Purple

Hi Purplekat, and welcome to psych central. Animals definitely help relieve stress. I love my dogs very much, and would do just about anything for them. You can check out my profile for some pics of my dogs.

Another pet lover here, I have two dogs, who provide me with comfort and companionship all the time. I don't know what I would do without them.

I'm an animal lover, especially of dogs, although I don't have any dogs at the moment. We (my boyfriend and I) have a bird, and I've been feeding the neighborhood cats, of which there's around 15 of them!!! They all make me happy.
