Oh how cute! My son just got two hamsters too, they are just so adorable. And so different from his rats (that he has still too).

My son has a dwarf hamster and a syrian hamster. They are in seperate cages. Do yours get along?

Yes mine get along because they were roommates at the pet store. They were all separated, 2 per cage. I really liked the light colored with the red eyes so i wanted to get her. Then i figured I gotta get her roommate so I don't separate them.

Such cute little creatures. The 1 with red eyes ie freaky deaky I had a pet rat with red eyes they glowed at night when the light hit them.We don't have hampsters here in N.Z. as pets they are a banned species.Well we do have them here but not as pets sadly as animal reseaerch test victims.I know as I once applied for a job as an animal care assistant and was told that we have them in our country but for testing purposes only.Sorry if you get upset

we had three pawned off on us they needed a home so we took them in they lasted 4 years. we had to seperate them all after awhile because they started fighting with each other. and scratching each other and they would get war wounds

.. they were slippery lil suckers we lost nibbler for three days in our apartment. always got a chance they would run for it. mr. sqeak and nibbler if you held them in your hand and turned them belly up and rubbed there belly they wouldn't move was liek a sedating effect to them.

Awww they are so cute! My sister and I always had hamsters growing up, but I fell more head over heels in love with them...I'm 26 now and still often have hamsters. Knowing me, I'll probably end up with another one when we move! I'd have another one here, but we're in Germany (my husband's in the army) and we knew we wouldn't be here for longer than 3 years and since you can't bring them home with you, I just decided to wait. I did get to love on a little girl for a few months...my friend was about to move and the poor girl had cancer so we knew she wouldn't live much longer (and this was about 18 months ago so we had plenty of time) so I happily took her in...she lived about 4 months with us.

We first started getting Syrian hamsters (the big ones) but I saw a dwarf hamster as a teenager and fell in love...now I always get dwarfs, they are so cute and tiny and sweet and I just love watching them roll through the house in their little exercise ball...we always had carpet growing up so it was hard for them to move so they mainly stayed limited in the kitchen, but our house here has wood flooring all over so little Henrietta (the one we had for 4 months) had free roam everywhere, it was great!

Soo...umm...sorry to go off like that, but I just LOVE hamsters, especially dwarfs! Your babies are so adorable, congrats! I especially like the little one on the bottom!

Fresia, they are about half the size of the big hamsters! The big ones are mainly either teddy bear or Syrian hamsters...I will try and find pictures and edit this post with them. I had big ones growing up, but started to prefer the dwarfs, and now I get afraid to hold the big ones...go figure!

[Edit]

Here is a picture of someone holding a small black dwarf hamster: http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/23...1a279fe536.jpg

And here is a teddy bear hamster: http://www.pets4homes.co.uk/images/c...f5c7d36da7.jpg

All my dwarfies looked like this, our pet stores never had any other colors: http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/23...6478e19a64.jpg

I loved that coloring though and the little black line across their back!
