My beloved Boston terrier Otis is fading fast. He started having seizures out of the blue Saturday night. We spent Sunday at an emergency vet, but they could find anything wrong with him. They prescribed an anticonvulsant and sent him home.

The med stopped the seizures, but yesterday night he started peeing blood. This morning he can barely walk.

I know he's suffering, and it's time to say goodbye to him. After Sunday, our finances are tapped to the point that all we have left is enough to give him a dignified death.

He's only seven, and I thought I had many more years with my little clown boy. This is heartbreaking.

Thank you so much. My animals are almost as important as my children. They're always there when I'm hurting, and my Otis makes me laugh no matter how down I am. This is so hard.

I'm really sorry. It's heartbreaking to say goodbye to a pet that's part of the family. I lost my cat earlier this year. She was close to 12 years old.
Thanks for this!

I'm having such a hard time with this. Feeling panicky now. Less than three hours left before his appointment. God, it hurts.

Gave my own dog a cuddle when I saw this thread. So sorry for you and your terrier... 'pet' just doesn't feel like the right word sometimes as they become part of the family.

I really sympathise with cost and vet bills... so expensive and just adds to the grief when you so want the best for your loved one but it's out of reach.

My thoughts are also with you
