My Otis got me up every morning before 8. Even when I wanted to lay in bed and cry all day, he made sure to get me up so I could feed and walk him. My days revolved around him. I took him with me everywhere I could.

I don't know what to do without his calm, supportive presence. I don't know how to get out of bed. He was my alarm clock, my therapist, my exercise buddy, my hiking partner, my personal comedian, and my best friend.

I don't know what to do now. Hurting without my dog

I am so sorry Otis is gone. I know he was very special. No other dog can truly replace another one, but maybe at some point you will feel like getting another doggie.
Thanks for this!

Be extra kind to you right now and do what you need to take special care, not an easy time to say the least. It is hard to adjust while our hearts ache and our routines with our best buds have been disrupted with such a loss. It can feel like floundering but hope will find some steadier ground soon.

Sometimes welcoming a new family member can be helpful to provide a loving home for them and to help us adjust, and other times it is better to give us time to grieve instead. You will know what feels right in time.

Hang in there meanwhile. My thoughts are with you. (((((Gloamingone)))))

My heart goes out to you.
