Default snakes like to cuddle too (actual snake pics inside, fyi)

I've had two of my snakes out for most of the day today. They have spent the last 3+hours relaxing on the couch with me. They are not housed together, but they seem to enjoy the company at the moment (and I'm glad Sugar Cane has no idea what he is doing because I'd have a difficult time not incubating any eggs that came from them).

They are lovely.

They love our body heat, perfect temperature for them to snuggle up to. Mine always seem to find me wherever I was to curl up with when I would park it someplace, even on my lap when I sat at the computer. Miss em. Glad y'all had a relaxing afternoon together.

What kind of snakes did you have? And sorry to hear you no longer have them :/ occasionally I think I need to re-home them because of the work involved in keeping up with the cleaning of so many (I have 10), but I just can't part with a few (the lighter guy is my all - time favorite snake. He's super chill and loves going out and about for education demos).

Personally, I had eastern ribbons and an albino Burmese python, but I also used to have facilities to take care of ailing snakes for the zoo to keep them quarantined when they weren't doing well and to nurse them back to health. They are a lot of work even when there aren't any issues. I get more concerned when people take them on as "cool" pet not realizing the space they actually need, and all their other needs, plus to keep them and others safe. It is great you are doing education demos with them. I can definitely sympathize with the work though and they can be a rewarding as they are such magnificent, prehistoric critters. Besides, who doesn't want miss out on snuggling with a snake, really?

ribbons are cool snakes, so are burms (thought I don't think I could sufficiently house a burm at this point). I have various rat snakes, milk snakes, a ball, a red tail boa, and 4 carpets.
yeah, space is a huge point of contention on all the herp sites... I tend to advocate "bigger is better" and lots of mental stimulation if I can. I get criticized for "making my snakes nervous with too much space" but I can't stand the thought of keeping them in tubs. My snakes seem to thrive and be comfortable in many situations...
but I digress, yeah, I love doing education with them, though I currently don't do anything formally anymore. people always seem surprised that mine are inquisitive and active (even my ball python is happy to cruise about when given the chance).

We had a boa constrictor names Seth and he just loved to snuggle and go for "walks". Our other snake, a corn snake names Slinky was a little more independent. They got too big for their enclosures and we weren't spending enough time with them so donated them to a snake sanctuary. That was some years ago. I can only hope they're still doing fine.

I will admit I would be alittle nervous. But they are beautiful and that is still adorable!

I have never had a pet snake. Just the wild snakes that come into my house to visit from time to time. Most recently we had a small black snake that we saw three times but it has been several weeks since he has been seen so not sure if he is still here. I could appreciate a snake cuddling if only he doesn't surprise cuddle me while I am in bed sleeping.

I'm more of an Australian blue tongued skink type, but as far as snakes, while I never had one as a pet, when I lived in FL, I found a little cutie in my front yard while raking and preparing a bed for some new flowers. It was about a foot or so long, yellow in color, and I was trying to work around it as best I could. It decided it didn't approve of me raking the soil and curled up like a rattlesnake and started shaking it's tail and striking at the rake. At this point I assumed it was a baby rattler and I admit I had a little fun at the little guys expense because it was so determined to kill the rake. Finally, it took off underneath a copper plant. I finished planting my flowers and later told a neighbor about the cute little snake. He informed me that it was not a baby but a pygmy rattler which are extremely venomous. He was disappointed that I hadn't killed it, but even if I had known what it was, I would not have harmed it. I never saw another one, but if I had, I would have put the rake away and planted flowers another day.

it was likely a yearling yellow rat snake. They like to bluff and pretend to be tough, venemous species... I'm glad you had not killed it Even pygmy rattlers are not that harmful to humans. They hurt like heck, and will make you really sick, but (to the best of my very limited knowledge), they cannot kill an adult human.

I LOVE bts! I want one some day, but it will have to wait till I can get it proper housing. They are great lizards. Do you currently have any?

In our neighborhood we had red rat snakes everywhere so I know what you mean by them acting 'badass'. I never saw any yellow ones. This little guy had a rattle on the end of his tail, too. That's why I thought it was a baby.

I used to have a bts named Emmett. He was AWESOME! I used to wear a pull-over hoodie with a 'hand pouch' in the front. I would take him with me to run errands and he curled up in that pouch. One day I was at the drug store picking up Rx's and the woman behind the counter looked at me and her eyes got really big. I looked down, and Emmett's tail was poking out of one side of the pouch. I tucked it back in, only to have his head pop out the other side!

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I had to give him up, so I donated him to the Gee Wiz Children's Museum in Sarasota, FL. They changed his name to Steve! LOL!

He was a Western Australian bts, and I definitely plan to get another someday. If you get them when they are fairly young, they get used to being handled. Emmett's favorite spot to 'ride' was my left shoulder and if I was sitting down and he got cold, he would climb inside my shirt. The only time he didn't like being handled was when he was shedding his skin. I used to feed him kale and collard greens, bananas, and chicken baby food. I also fed him pinkies about once a month. I wouldn't recommend it if you're squeamish.
