Krissy went to the vet for his follow up check yesterday. The ear infection is not 100% cleared up, but much better. With the nasty gunk out of his ear the vet was able to get a better look at things. No sign of a polyp, just an infection. I asked why an ear infection would make his pupils different sizes. It's from the pressure of the fluid. the vet felt the infection was cleared up enough to give him the last of his injections. The only thing left for either Krissy or Mikey at this point is to be neutered in the future.

Oh yeah, Krissy gained 6 ounces in one week! We weighed Mikey just to see how much he weighed. He also gained 6 ounces. At three months ole he weigh 5 pound 7 ounces. I've started joking he is going to Mikey Moose!

It was nice to get a good check up on Krissy. He's had one ailment after another. Let's hope it's clear sailing from now on.

I hope it will be smooth sailing, too. I am glad they are growing well and that Krissy's ear problem is getting better.

Such good news that there is not a polyp and that the infection is starting to clear up. Hopefully all will be totally clear soon. Will be hoping for the best.

I am so glad that Krissy is doing so much better! Do Mikey and Krissy get along really well?
Wow, Mikey is such a big boy! Does the vet think he is part Maine Coon, perhaps? They are such big cats (my vet used to have one who weighed 21 lbs, all muscle) that was just the first thing that I thought of when you said how big he was!
I unknowingly adopted a cat who is part Maine Coon about 10 years ago. He was a very muscular kitten, altho not overly large. My best friend ended up taking him because my tabby and him were constantly going at it (total battle for dominance that neither were going to give up). Anyway, he is a long-haired tuxedo cat, very stocky and solid, all muscle, long tufts of fur coming out of his ears and in between his paw pads (he has trouble gaining momentum when running on my friend's hardwood floors, which is pretty funny), and he mostly squeaks when he tries to meow...apparently that's fairly common in Maine Coons, my vet said.
My best friend gives him a lion cut in the summer and he prances around because he feels so much better without that thick coat weighing him down.
(Sorry for the OT details...but was wondering if Mikey was like that at all, the Maine Coon characteristics...and got a little carried away!)

I'm so glad to hear that. I've been wondering about the little tyke.

Thanks everyone!

Krissy is continuing to do well. Let's hope he is over all his ailments now. He is gaining weight nicely. I doubt he is ever going to be a big guy. I found out his mother is petite. I think he is going to take after her.

Elsewhere, I have no idea what Mikey's parents were. The lady who gave him to me described the mother as "average." I love Maine Coons, but don't think Mikey is one. Well, now that I think of it, he's got really hairy feet with tufts growing out between his pads. His tail is weird. The hair near the base is short. The further out on the tail you go the longer the hair is. He looks like he's got a plume for a tail. On the other hand he is very vocal. That's how he got his name. As an itty bitty baby he would howl for me. One night I said "Aren't you just a Motor Mouth Mike" and it stuck. His coat is a typical shorthair coat, but very soft.

Yes, Krissy and Mikey get along great. They act like brothers even though there is no way they are related. They came from town 50 miles apart!

Do keep us updated on them!

I can't wait to hear how big Mikey gets to be when he is all grown up!
