Mikey had to make a trip to the vet yesterday. He had a swelling on his face that was worrying me. Turns out he had an infected lump node. He probably got swatted in the face by one of the others. If there's something going on around the house it's guaranteed he will be in the middle of it.
I knew he was getting to be a big boy, but was still surprised when they weighed him. At six months old he weighs 8 pounds 4 1/2 ounces!!! At six months he weighs as much as a full grown cat. There's no fat on him. He is solid muscle. He is going to be one very BIG boy! I mentioned to the vet that I thought he might be part Maine Coon cat. She agreed, but also suggested he might be part Norwegian Forest cat. Either would explain his size. Do I sound like a proud momma? He is my baby boy, BIG baby boy, but my baby. |

I'm glad things turned out good for Mikey! Have you ever seen a pixiebob? That is my favorite cat.

He scared the bejeebers out of me yesterday. He launched himself off the bed at me wanting to be caught and cuddled. Would have been okay if he'd given me some warning. Instead suddenly 8 pounds of cat is flying though the air at me!

Glad to hear that all is going well and he is growing up so nicely. Love the coat on the Maine coon or Norwegian, and their faces are just so expressive. I am sorry to hear about the infection in the node; hopefully it will clear up soon. It clearly is not slowing him down though, kitty cannonball that he is.

Silly boy has a scratch on the other side of his nose today. Let's hope this one doesn't get infected too. Current infection seems to be gone.
jelly bean, I checked out pixie bobs. He definitely is not one. He has a l-o-n-g full tail. It's bushy like a fox's tail. Never heard of pixie bobs before. They are handsome cats. I checked out Norwegian Forest cats versus Maine Coon. I'm leaning in favor of Maine Coon. His coat on his body is fairly close to his body. Norwegian Forest seem to have long hair all over. Also the Norwegians have large ruffs around their neck and chest. Mikey doesn't have that. Anyone interested in pictures I posted pics of Krissy and Mikey in a post of the same title.
