Anyone get to watch the Derby yesterday? I was at a funeral and missed it. Just watched it on Youtube. Exciting end to the race! Excellent riding by the winning jockey.

I missed seeing it. I wasn't paying attention to the time. But I watched it on YouTube too and it was like you said a very exciting race.

Didn't see it this year....I don't have a TV.....last year we had a derby party at a friends house but he was away in Thailand this year.

LOL....last year this California girl here in KY won the derby pot at that party as I waltzed in, last one to the party 5 minutes before race time.....with none other than California Chrome...LOL...couldn't have been more of a coincidence if we had wanted it to be.

I usually don't care that much for racing...but a group of us went to Churchhill Down's last fall..a couple of people in our women's horse group had gone together on training a race horse & she was supposed to be racing that day....but she needed surgery the week before she was supposed to run.....LOL...they don't give refunds....so we went & partied anyway at the millionair's club......interesting way to watch the races....they have a huge buffet & tables....everyone sits around & eats & then goes out on the deck to watch each race as it's run through the day....there were about 15 races being run that day....unlike Derby day or the Oaks the day before where it's just the one race.

I had never been to Churchhill Down's before that......it's rather beautiful & I got some good pictures & we did a lot of partying that day....as we had a group of about 75 there (friends & relatives) who wanted to enjoy the experience & we had all been hoping to watch "Itchy Britches" run her first race.

LOL....nothing like the Derby....but it was more fun than the racing at our other race course which is Keeneland.
