It was Memorial Day weekend last year that I had to have Callie and Al put down. That was a sad, sad day.

But that was also the weekend that Mikey and Krissy came into my life. Mikey was an itty-bitty baby (probably about two weeks old) who had to be bottle fed at first. He and I bonded at first sight. Today he is my guy. Krissy joined us on Memorial Day itself. A friend asked if I'd take pictures of some kittens she was fostering. She wanted to use the pics to help find new homes. Krissy had a horrid eye infection. I offered to take him home and treat his eyes for her. Couple days later I called and told her I was keeping the kitten.

When I had Callie and Al put down I really wasn't sure if I wanted to take in another animal right away. Instead I took in two! My vet was right when she said "it was meant to be." They've both brought me so much happiness.

You sound like such a compassionate person and animal lover.

I am sorry you lost Callie and Al, but am I glad you were able to find love again so soon. What joy we can find right around the corner when we least expect it.

Best wishes, Gayle
