Yes this is a great breed of cat, I was interested to know that they are water resistant and have adapted to the cold. They really are made to live in America so it's no surprise that the are indigenous to that region. Thanks lizard.

Thanks LL. Very interesting. I am sure Mikey is stunning then if he is ME Coon. What do you think Krissy is?

My Jake was a ME Coon too, that I miss oh so much. He loved the water, so much so, that when I would run the bath or shower, he would hop under the running water to bathe himself before I would but only until the temperature was just right; he would wait, testing the temp with his paw and then dive in and play. He had the softest, most lovely coat but I can say though that I don't miss the shedding and all the hair everywhere. I would love to have him back though, mess and all.

Three cheers to ME Coons.

This is also a nice cat. Possibly a Maine Coon.

I have a lovely Maine Coon kitty. He's the sweetest big baby, so loving and kind of like a dog.
Thanks for this!

Fresia, Krissy is a basic Domestic short hair. He is a grey tabby with white feet, belly, chest and chin. Apparently he looks like his momma. Heaven only knows what his daddy was.

Mikey is funny about water. He doesn't want to be in water, but will join me in the shower. He also gets in the shower after I get out and play in the puddles on the floor. He is also dog-like. He growls at strangers when they come to the door. He meets me at the door when I come home at night.

Seeker, Mikey is a snuggle bunny.

I'll try and get some current pictures of Mikey to post. Not sure I want to take Krissy's picture with that big ol' nasty sore on it. On the other hand, if I took a picture I could measure whether it's healing.
Thanks for this!

Yes seeker, they are known as the dogs of the cat world. So I guess if you don't have a backyard for a dog the Coon is the next best thing.
