I was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice with this.
We took our cat to the vet last week, and she told us that Bella needed to lose 5 pounds, had gingivitis which we had to get a spray for, and that she had to switch to wet food. I was feeding her a little wet food four times a day, and even though she didn't eat all of it, I thought she was taking to it, but then, yesterday I finally realized that for the most part, she was only licking up any gravy that was in it. she wasn't acting right (even started refusing her dry food), so we stopped the wet food, and got her to again eat her dry food, and she's drinking plenty of water, as she always has. I'm thinking we will try to find some low carb dry food for her today. Any ideas? Or should we go with the grocery store raw food diet packs? I'm thinking those are expensive, and I worry about another transition. Our vet told us to buy this spray and to also try coconut oil in her food for her gingivitis. She won't touch anything with the oil on it - don't know why - I tasted it and it's tasteless. Could I be doing something wrong - is there another natural remedy for this? We did the spray twice, and she would hardly let us pet her for 3 days because of it. Plus we will be going on vacation, and it won't work out for someone else to do this. Our cat doesn't trust people, so she would go in hiding. I called our vet yesterday about Bella, but didn't realize at the time that she really was hardly eating the wet food at all. I guess I don't want to bother her again. Hoping someone on here can help. Sorry for the long post - thanks! |
