Some of you might have seen my thread about finding a kitten for my friend. Well.... the little guy is going to continue to live at my house! Details of how that came about are in another thread. Short story is that I fell in love. He has acted like I'm his mom since I brought him home. Seems it took me a bit longer to figure out than it did him.

I don't have any pictures of him yet. Will post them when I do.

Laurie asked his name. I decided on Ollie or Oliver. I am going to admit up front I have a warped sense of humor. The black stripes on his belly form an arrow that points at his, er, privates. I asked him if he wanted to be sure people saw what he had. Anyway.... there's a show on TV called "Arrow", the main character's name is Oliver. Making the connection yet? arrow and Oliver? I said I have a warped sense of humor.

The crazy cat lady now shares a house with six cats! I said this before.
I have a t-shirt that says "Will die alone with 72 cats." Beginning to think it's true. At least I'll die happy!

I'm trying out both Ollie and Oliver. Ollie seems to fit better. I suspect Oliver will be saved for times when he is in trouble. Mikey knows if I call him Michael he better quit what he's doing. It's sort of like when your mother uses all three of your names. You know you are in serious trouble.

Ollie has his first vet appointment today. My vet has a kitten package that includes everything they need from shots to neutering for one set price. Am going to sign him up today. The first appt. is a get to know you and start his shots.

He has settled in well with the others. He has even convinced scaredy cat Boomer to play.

I fashioned a teeny harness for him. I'm going to try and teach him to walk on a leash. He does not mind riding in the car so I'm hoping to make him my "traveling cat." I sometimes spend over night at my mother's house. I'd like him to go with me.

Having a travel cat is great. My guy goes everywhere with me. The back seat is his domain. Ollie sounds like a nice cat.

Ollie had his first vet visit Friday. As expected he's healthy. Got his initial shots, treated for worms and fleas. Poor little guy screamed like they were killing him when they drew blood for FIV/FeLuc tests. He cuddled up with me afterward taking solace. He goes back to the vet Sept. 12 for follow up shots and "the" surgery. I'm having him microchipped at the same time.

We spent the night at my mom's house taking care of somethings that needed to be done. I think he is going to work out as my "traveling cat." He doesn't mind riding in the car. Doesn't mind going to new places (we'll see about the vet in the future). He played with toys, snuggled with me on the sofa and slept with me. He even brought one of his toys to me in bed.

He definitely has decided I'm his mom. If I was out of his sight in house he howled until he found me.

Do I sound like a proud momma?
