So Sunny is trying a new med. he's lost and confused at night and either starts meowing or caterwauling. The first medicine didn't help but I got a new one yesterday. I hope it helps him and me because getting up at 1:30 am each night is hurting me to. This new medince is also not a pill thank god. He is the hardest cat to give a pill to. He took the liquid pretty well last night hopefully it will help.

I hope the new medicine helps Sunny. I wonder if the time of day he gets the medicine caused the restlessness at night.

We started the medicine to help him get through the nights. The first medicine didn't work hopefully the new one will help. Cats can get dementia and that's what they think he has. We find him on things that he never used to be on line the fire place mantel or the china hutch

Oh, I understand now. I had a cat that was partially blind. I tried to keep everything consistent for him...so he wouldn't get confused by an object in an unfamiliar place. I also put night lights in the hall and bathroom. Maybe it is similar with dementia?...the less change, the more comfortable he will be.

I have found that cats do tend to get some dementia as they age. My very best to you and Sunny

Well he has had his second dose of the new medicine he had me up at 1:15 am and no I have not been able to go back to sleep. Then McGee came home with a rat that he tried to bring into the house to "show me " at 5 am. it's hard to get that image out of my head

When my cat, Sambeckett, developed dementia we called it Cat-heimer's. Sorry this is happening to Summy Cake. It can be stressful to deal with.

Well heck the new med is giving sunny energy almost like it he was a kitten so he has been in some pain however he is eating more to. He's gained over a pound. He's up to 18lbs. We check in with the vet on Tuesday not sure what's going to happen
