My husband and I just applied for our first puppy of our own! I grew up with dogs and we both love dogs. We are going to get a poodle and train it to help me with emotional support. In reality, just having a pet helps me. I’m excited to finally have a fur baby in our house hopefully by Spring 2018!

Oh that’s great. I have a Emotional Support Animal. She’ll be three years old next month. I’ve had her since she was five months old. I LOVE ❤️ her. I take her riding around and she loves it.

Pets are such a good way to chill the nerves and just love something unconditionally. I don’t have kids so I call my pets “babies”. And for the record, three cats does not make me a cat lady... yetApplied for a puppy!. One of those cats, I also adopted just last week. She’s been nothing but laughs all week. I would make sure to call the agency/pound you filled out an app for just to follow up. I was originally supposed to get my cats sister but my app was sent in too late (even though I filled out an app first) so this other girl got her at the last min. I was beyond upset but I’m thrilled that I could give her sibling a home in the end. Adopting is such a great and selfless thing to do. Enjoy your new pup and may all your shoes stay intact Applied for a puppy!❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for this!

I'm so happy for you! I adopted a little 8-year-old, shih tzu/poole mix two weeks ago and I just adore her. (She's curled up in a little ball right next to me as I type this.) She is my therapy dog, and I'm going to do training classes with her for this, too, and get her registered as a therapy dog so I can take her everywhere with me.

My parents have a 7 year old shihtzu/poodle mix! They are funny dogs. I'm applying for a breeder that is an akc merit breeder for mini poodles. I found her through a friend and she seems very reputable. I'm going to go to her house and see the dogs/area. Poodles are the second smartest dog breed! I'm so excited to have my new fur baby!

How exciting! I've thought of getting a service animal, for emotional support mostly. My conditions are so isolating and I miss having animals around. We always had them growing up.

Update: I originally wanted to adopt. The breeder just contacted me to tell me that she has a 7 almost 8 year old retired champion show poodle she wants to re home. I think she has too many dogs and is hoping to get a cream female poodle from her next litter so she wants to make room in case she gets the girl. Anyhow, this boy might be our boy! I’m sure he’s insanely well trained! We might be adopting after all! Now I’m excited because we might have him in a few weeks!
Thanks for this!

Oh I am so glad you are thinking of adopting! My little dog that I adopted a few weeks ago is 8, and she is turning out to be the perfect dog--so very well behaved and very mellow. Plus I feel really good about adopting. There are so many dogs out there needing homes.
