My daughter's cat is having surgery Tuesday to remove a bladder stone. It's too big to pass but still can cause problems. It was discovered a month ago when the cat had a UTI. Though she got over the infection, the stone is still there and not changed in size.

It should be a routine surgery and about the same amount of discomfort as a spay, but there's always risks.

Keep Roxie in your prayers, meditations, and all round good intentions.

Surgery went well. Roxie is recuperating at the vet's. We will be picking her up later this afternoon.

Fun part is she has to wear a cone. She doesn't even like her collar, much less a cone.

Glad she's well. Yeah, I wouldn't like to wear a cone either.

I'm glad she's feeling better, hope she won't have to wear the "cone of shame" for long

Roxie is still doing well, though a bit stir crazy in my daughter's room. My daughter doesn't want her out until the next followup a week from now.

Our other cat is enjoying the reprieve, though.
Thanks for this!

Have you looked into a Kong (instead of a cone)? I've used Kongs several times & they're terrific.
Thanks for this!

The cone came off a couple of weeks ago. Roxie is back to normal though a bit thinner than she used to be. (Her weight is normal, though.) We found the dry version of her prescriptive food and she's doing well with it.

Glad that is done and no more trips until September for her wellness exam.
