My new room mate came complete with a cat, which I love. She's very sweet and shy, but is slowly exploring the apartment and getting to know me. She'll let me pet her now.

She's staked out her territory - her favourite resting spot is on top of the dining room table.

I wasn't able to post a picture in this message, but I posted a picture in an album, here https://psychcentralforums.com/album.php?albumid=5601

Her name is Hailey

What a nice cat. Me thinks she would be enjoying the extra company. Hope your non furry roomie has settled in and that things are going well with him too.

Things are going really well with both the human and feline room mates My room mate didn't come home Fri. night, and was out most of Sat., so Hailey was feeling lonely. As a result, she clung to me like glue all day. It was nice. I'm clearly the second place human, since I don't provide food, but she's slowly warming up to me.

Rousseau (human room mate) and I were talking about Hailey (furry room mate) this morning, and I told him, all my friends on facebook thought she looked really big. She's not fat, but she's very long for a cat, and has really big muscular hind legs.

He rescued her when she was a feral kitten, so her breeding is unknown, beyond the obvious tabby markings, but he said her vet says she's a combo tabby /Bengal, which is why she really likes rough play. Not from me, she's really gentle with me, unless I annoy her, in which case she'll extend her claws, or bare her teeth, but with him, she really likes play fighting.

Interesting.....the 4 month old tabby kitten that showed up on my farm & staked his claim here (& is now a total house cat after 1 month) has tufts on the tips of his ears. The vet thinks there may be some bengal in him too because of the tufts & the unusual tabby markings.

Everyone tells me how smart tabby's are & this little guy (Gabriel) has proved that to be true. He knows when I say "soft paw" means no claws. He is the smartest kitten I have ever had & he already owns me & follows me everywhere.

Lol....he will get on top of my bed or laundry basket & bat at my blind doggie JoGI but he does it with no claws.

Glad you are enjoying your new furry room mate. They definitely provide entertainment to the household.

Sounds like a good mix for a cat. Full on Bengals can be a handful but crossed with a moggy will have added a bit of more a chilled cattitude )believe it or not). Sound like your new room mates are a much better fit for you. Happy dance.

Yes, I'm very happy with the new roomies. Even better, the human believes in paying rent on time.

I don't know if she was cold or if she's becoming more affectionate, but this morning Hailey climbed up onto my stomach and kind of curled up in my elbow while I was on the laptop. I felt bad that I had to shift her, as I needed to get up to make breakfast. She spent all day yesterday glued to me too.

Looks like I'm being adopted.

Getting to know & TRUST you. I never had a kitten follow me around like a puppy dog but Gabriel hardly ever lets me out of his sight & snuggles with me every time I sit down.....so Hailey has definitely chosen you. That is so very sweet

Yeh me too. I think it is so cute that the cat has adopted you. I love the sweet nature of animals to trust in us strange creatures. Makes me want to get a roommate so my cat can have a new person to adopt. Anyway, makes my day to hear about it.
