My beloved stray, Cleo, who appeared last Christmas and stuck around ever since, has been missing since Saturday. I dont know what happened to her or if she is alive, but this is the first time since last Christmas that she has wandered off. She has always stayed close to her little house we built her in our side yard and has always made a commotion for food in the morning and in the evening.

Last night I dreamt she came home and nearly cried when I came out and she wasnt there. My heart is aching and even though she wasnt truly my cat I miss her dearly.

Please pray that Cleo comes home.

Maybe Cleo found herself a boy friend and is having an adventure. Is it all possible that Cleo is having kittens some place? Hope she come home soon.

Update:

My dad called the animal control people this morning because there is a humane society who sometimes go into neighborhoods and collect feral cats to spay/neuter and release them back into the neighborhood. He called and left them a message. The animal control people said three people have reported missing cats in our area (and we know there is more, like our next door neighbors who have not reported). They also said it is likely they could have been attacked by a wild animal, as we live among bobcats, cougars, raccoons, etc. And I believe I just saw my neighbor's cat recently, I believe I saw it across the street.

I am hoping and praying that Cleo is safe.

Are you allowed to go and see the cats where they are now to see if Cleo is there? At least then you can know is she is safe.

We believe she's been eaten by another animal. She hasn't returned and it's been over a week.

Thank you.

It's very heartbreaking, and I hate that she's gone. She was such a loving, happy cat and such a wonderful companion. I like to hope that she's on an adventure and will come back, but I'm afraid she's gone...

Now I am very, very afraid of my indoor baby getting loose. It would just kill me if I lost her, too.

Sending prayers, LiteraryLark.
Have had two cats in my life who I thought were really gone--released outdoors through someone else's carelessness--both come back safe and sound after some time. Hope this is what happens for you, too.
Thanks for this!
