Here is Beeg looking handsome in one of his sweaters. I'm not fond of dressing up animals, but the poor boy cannot tolerate the cold.

Sorry - i do keep teasing people on pc that something about them is so irresistible that they may one day find themselves with an uninvited houseguest. If i can find a watchamacallit a drone big enough to pick me up and drop me off. Drones know where to go, right? A PETEY DOG!!! I WANT!!!

Thanks for the update on Beeg lizardlady. You must be relieved that this day is over. That is a decent size wound. Sounds like he needs a very good nap. Fingers and toes are all crossed for the outcome to be a good one. May the healing begin.
Animals need care like a vest or rug to keep them warm in winter. It's not like there is a tutu. |

He is no longer wearing the cone. He was absolutely miserable in it. He'd sit and whine and got crazy trying to get it off. I was afraid he was going to hurt himself. I took it off and put one of his blankets (looks like a dog blanket) on him. He is content and the incision is protected. This morning will be his last dose of pain med. I don't think he really needs it, but it's what the vet prescribed. He seems to be feeling okay. This morning he really wanted to do zoomies around the yard, but that's a complete no-no for a while yet.
Am still waiting on lab results. Fingers crossed. |

Thanks for the update @lizardlady Here is hoping the puppy dog's results come back good. I'm glad that he is getting better. That was a pretty deep wound.

liz, I strongly recommend the Kong (donut-shaped thingy). They're so much more comfortable, less awkward, and work well. Sending healing vibes to Beeg.

Beth, thanks for the suggestion about the Kong. The blanket is doing the job. He is use to wearing it and keeps him from fussing at the wound.

No zooming. He's either been on a leash or cable since the surgery. He got down and rolled yesterday. I think that's what did it. Am calling the vet's office first thing tomorrow to see what she wants to do. Between dealing with his tumor/surgery and the horse's eye I'm worn out.

Took him to the vet this morning. They are keeping him overnight. The incision is infected. They are loading him with antibiotics today. Surgery to close him up tomorrow. *sigh*
It was weird coming home and he wasn't here to greet me. I miss the Big Goof. |

Aww that’s hard. Hope the infection goes away pronto and that he gets to come home tomorrow.
