I honestly have no clue who but someone keeps tossing bones in the backyard for our dogs. I'm sure they think they are being nice but our pit mix doesn't seem to digest bones well. For whatever reason they tend to make her vomit, get constipated or both. The chihuahua will gnaw on them and they don't seem to bother him but I don't think it's fair to let him have something she can't have. If they didn't make her sick I honestly wouldn't care but it's getting to be a pain to have to go out and scour the yard before she can come out.
This has been going on for about 6 months now and so far we've never seen who's doing it. IF I knew which neighbor it was I would simply talk to them and explain I appreciate them thinking of my dogs but it makes one of them ill. When I was training Agape the poodle next door would just whine and whine at the fence trying to get me to give her a treat. So I went and ASKED my neighbor if her pup could have any and she said sure. BUT I would never give a pet something without talking to the owner first and getting permission....I mean what if they have dietary restrictions or something? So any ideas on how to handle this other than to keep scouring the yard for bones? __________________ I think I need help 'cause I'm drowning in myself. What about posting a sign asking people to not feed the dogs due to health problems?

Maybe a letter box drop to the neighbours who's yards is abuts your place saying that the bones are making the dogs sick?

Both sound like good ideas. I think I will post a sign on the fence at both gates and if that doesn't do it then send out some letters to see if that does any good.
Hubby's idea was to just go door to door until we found the person and explain the situation but I have WAYYYY too much social anxiety for that __________________ I think I need help 'cause I'm drowning in myself. Going door to door depends on your neighborhood. Some neighborhoods you could be met with a gun. You might not find the person anyway. It could be someone who walks or runs by your house.
