Midwestern Pet Foods Voluntarily Recall Due to Possible Salmonella Health Risk | FDA

We just get pet food from regular stores, such as Purina. These sound like fancy brands, but I'm not sure. I've never heard of them. How scary!

Indeed how scary. But like you I’ve never heard of any of those.

I buy the Sportstrail dog food at the feed store where I buy my horse feed. I feed it to my raccoons, not my dogs. (My dogs get expensive lamb & rice food) I think raccoons & possums can eat anything though without getting sick

Yes, I do think different animals are sensitive to different foods. What might hurt one doesn't harm another.

Our pooch eats "Wellness" brand small-breed dog food.

I believe Beeg has a cast iron gut given the things he finds around the farm to munch on.

So hard to find high quality at reasonable prices that you trust the health of our fur babies to

Reasonable prices being the key word for me. But my guy has been on frisky wet food and i’ams dry food for over ten years and his health is 👍 great. ( knock on wood) he’s estimated to be between 16-18 years old. To get him to drink water I did have to switch to a pie pan. His whiskers don’t get crunched up that way. I found a ceramic one so it doesn’t tip over. I buy the various bits and shredded meats and alternate with the pate so he doesn’t get bored.

Oh, er, "poo"! I just opened a bag of Meow Mix this morning. It's a small bag and we don't live in one of the states listed. Still going to check the bag and watch the fur babies.

Thanks for posting this Trav.
