After 3 Years in a Los Vegas Shelter, Sheba the Dog Finally Finds a Forever Home
Yay! Free at last! Several years ago we adopted a cat from the local shelter. The shelter lady said she had been there the longest, but I didn't ask how long. The kitty (named Caroline) is very attached to me. Maybe she knows I'm the one who said, "We'll take her!" |

I wholeheartedly recommend Dogtripping, 25 rescues, 11 volunteers and 3 Rvs. I’ve forgotten the author but it was a great book about loving dogs. The author moves from California to Maine with 25 dogs and along the way tells how he and his wife got involved. It’s a pretty clear eyed account of rescuing and shelters.

There used to be the odd show on tv where pets helped their owners in unexpected ways. I’ve just remembered this story from one of them where a horse used their tail to help their elderly lady owner out of some mud or something. Even back then I was amazed at how the horse knew how to help her (the horse actually backed up to where she was laying!).
Also a story I’ve seen on Pinterest lately - a service dog who knew all the commands, but failed the training. He performs them when he feels like it, not when he’s asked! I just thought that was funny lol |

'Demonic Chihuahua hellscape': Meet Prancer, the puppy everyone wants after a brutally honest Facebook post
It would be interesting to hear about the people who end up adopting Prancer. A lesbian couple? A single lady with anger toward an ex? It's nice to have an honest ad. I doubt this doggie would survive in a kill shelter. |

Not my pet, but the cat that hangs out at my work place is funny. He likes sitting on resident’s laps if they sit outside, and if I go outside for lunch I have to keep my lunchbox closed otherwise he’ll get his head right inside it! I dropped a bit of dry cereal on his head the other day, next thing I hear is crunching!

An old dog was left at a shelter to be put down. Instead she's living her best life.
How nice! I'm so glad for the dog. |
