Hey, I'm a new mama to the cutest, little bundle of joy! Her name is Sadie, she's 2 months and I can't get enough of her!! I've lost several immediate family members since 2018, so Sadie has already brought so much love and comfort to me. My daughter and her son, who live with me, thought she would be a great addition to our family, and how right they were. But....my daughter and I work and my grandson is in school and then work. Sadie is by herself, at times, and it really stresses me out. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations on your new addition! How about some "puzzle" toys to occupy her when you are gone? Kong has a variety of toys you put food inside and the dog has to figure out how to get the food. You can leave the TV/radio on so there are voices in the house during the day. We have some very knowledgeable dog parents here. They ought to be able to help.

side note - I see your location is Waycross. My father-in-law was born there.

Hello Chiweeniebabymama. I see this is your first post here on MSF so... welcome to the forums. I hope you find being here to be of benefit.

What kind of dog is it? It would be hard for the dog to be at home all day on her own. Could you think about getting her companion either another dog or cat? Or is there someone nearby who is home all day who might want to look after the dog?

I've heard that keeping the TV on (or maybe a radio?) can be of some comfort to animals that are alone.

A chiweenie? What kind of breed mix is that? It sounds cute!

Congrats on your new baby.
