I am thinking of getting a pet backpack to carry around my cat wherever I go rather than a typical carrier...has anyone done this and how did your pet like this? I'm looking into a front facing backpack where the kitten can see what I see and I can see my kitty.

i have never used one, i dont think either of my girls would tolerate it, Tigger might though - she loves being held and cuddled and kissed and will snuggle into any arms that she can get into, but she would much rather be held by a human rather than be in any object that a human is holding, even the cat carrier (she loves the vet, she hates the actual journey in the car, cries like a siamese when she's in the car)

Willow? she won't tolerate a harness, let alone anything else, she would likely bite the rucksack to make it go away before it bites her

This is what I got for my kitty.

Look at all the customer photos of their pets in the backpack!

Also, Willowtigger, I'm starting off with a kitten, so he will be trained to be in a cage, in a backpack, and in a harness, all this while being young so hopefully this kitty (or me) won't get too frustrated with training.

OK all my cats came to me as either adult rescues or elderley rescues, cause kittens get rehomed so quickly I will only ever take adult harder to rehome cats, personally.

Over the years I have had 6 cats, only 2 of them would of ever got homes elsewhere without getting dumped again.

Yeah it's a personal choice to start off with a kitten. Where I live the shelter will accept a kitten and spay or neuter and give all shots for $100 so this may be a first for me to adopt from a shelter. I am most comfortable starting with a kitten.
