She’s 11. I have a box full of toys. Nothing. Her game is to hide socks. Even clean socks. Only socks.
When we are in the country-side and I give her a bone, of course, she hide the bone when she had enough. She can’t do this at home.
But, on another side, my other doggie, same breed doesn’t have this habit.

It’s not a big deal for me. Of course, I have kind of lack of socks, along with the ones eaten by the black hole in the washing machine, there are some others that disappeared thanks to her.

Someone has any idea about why she does this. She even cry when she can’t get the right place to hide the sock.

Maybe, her being a female might have something to do. I don’t know.

Hi @AzulOscuro - that is funny unless you cannot find any socks. I keep mine safely in my bureau drawer.

My Yorkie used to pick through the trash looking for scraps. We had to get a trash can with a lid you raise by stepping on it. He never figured out how to get in there.

I also hide them nearly always, @CANDC, but she begins to cry if she hasn’t find any sock. So, I sometimes give her a clean one. I feel pity when she begins to cry. It’s curious because she normally do it after having lunch and dinner. I guess it’s a substitute for food and the habit doggies have to hide their food left.

@AzulOscuro I have a bag of old tee shirts and socks with holes in them that I use for rags. Too bad you do not have those.

How about putting out the word to friends and relatives to get them to give you their old socks?

Thinking it twice. I guess my other doggie doesn’t hide anything because he never has food left. He has an endless tummy.

Look at him here, with his head in the bag with what was left of Burger King.

He never has enough. lol!

Yes, I usually gave her broken socks but for example I’m cold-natured, especially my feet and I can’t sleep without socks when I get hot, I take them out and put them on the floor. Next morning, there’s only one. lol!
I will have to left them inside the sheets or in the bed-side table.

Btw, I’m not sure if I want someone else’s socks. 😂

My dog is the real epitome of creativity. He not only hid all the socks and shoes but also made designs on them by tearing them.

😂😂😂 Well, maybe not in the past, but currently, he might be doing what could be considered a masterpiece. And sure he has lots of toys and ignores them as hell. Lol!

I don’t know if your doggie also happens to tear, make tiny pieces with any paper napkin or tissue he runs into? My two kids can’t avoid doing it. World Dog is sometimes an enigma. 😀
