Quote:
A new record has been set by a pet in south-east London as the world's oldest living cat.

Flossie, 26, of Orpington, was confirmed as the oldest cat by Guinness World Records, which said she had a human equivalent age of 120 years old

Those are both magical. I wish they'd give more info, as far as health/illness, did they receive vet care or no, diet, etc.

A few years ago I read about a cat who was 32 years old when it died. It had been owned by a farmer, a widower. I felt so sorry for him because he grieved for that cat. He said that every morning when he had his coffee he fed the cat some coffee, too, and it loved its morning coffee!

On the wiki page for Creme puff it does say that
Quote:
Creme Puff's owner, Jake Perry, said her diet consisted of dry cat food supplemented with broccoli, eggs, turkey bacon, coffee with cream, and—every two days—"an eyedropper full of red wine". Perry claimed that this diet was key to her longevity, and that the wine "circulated the arteries".

I read that Flossie had poorly eyes and was deaf. She loves her food but it didn’t say what kind. That she was wild and her first owner rescued her from the streets. Flossie outlived her, then outlived the sister, then the son took her. He knew she was in her 20’s and couldn’t care for her properly, turned her in to a cat society that confirmed her age, with her vet records. She’s now with a woman who has experience with older cats. She sometimes has trouble grooming herself and sometimes misses the litter box. I had to read a lot of articles to get those bare bones. I’d like to know what she eats too.

I had two cats that both lived just past age 25. I did not really know that was such a big deal. We always made sure the food we fed was low enough n ash. Both cats were male cats. They did both go blind in the last court le years and both eventually died of kidney failure.

My oldest kitty lived to be 20.....She was a white shorthair.

I had another kitty live to 18......She was a shorthair tortie.

My current kitty is 11 yrs old now......She is a shorthair orange tabby, with white chest and feet.......She is still very lively and loves to play....
