Thanks Liz. That’s one of my nightmares. Especially now that my savings has been decimated by car repair and then a new car. Sir is aging and the clinic wants to run all sorts of tests but he is still playing, jumping, eating, and pooping fine so I pass on those.

I was told if I can't afford to take my pet to the vet to just not get a pet in the first place. I told them off because my pets are my therapy.

By the way, I am grateful for all the help I have received from friends, family, and neighbors.

sometimes circumstances can change

someone can be in a well-paid job but lose that job then have loads of expenses one after the other then their pet needs the vet and they dont have the money

Even if we have the money and budget for regular vet care disasters can happen. When I was in high school my cat got hit by a car and broke his hip. The vet was kind enough to let me pay over time. I scraped and scripted, paid him $5 at a time, but paid off the bill.
