Hazel has surgery today to remove the growth below her right eye. Anyone willing to be a pocket rider? After the nightmare with Beeg I'm nervous.

I’ll be a pocket rider. But I’m hoping that by now it all over and everything is fine. Hazel is back to her usual self.

Miss Hazel is home and stoned out of her head!

When I dropped her off this morning I mentioned being nervous about her going under anesthesia. Blus her heart,, the vet opted to just sedate her.. after dropping her off I ran some errands. Vet's office called as I was headed home to say surgery was over, she was fine and could go home in about an hour. They agreed to let me go ahead and bring her home. She crawled up on the bed as soon as we got home. Gave her a scritch and told her to sleep it off. Been being stressed about the surgery and having to be up before the birds two days in a row I'm worn out. May join her for awhile.

I cried on her a bit when we got in the truck to come home. She has stolen my heart.

Vet did not feel the need to send the growth under her eye or the one on her side for testing. Yeah!

Nammu, thanks for being willing to be a pocket rider. You're right it was all over before you could agree but I took you along anyway

Oh, good news!

Poor thing, probably wondering what all the fuss was for.

Im sorry i missed it entirely. I was up all night reading about the horse's posterior! So - still kind of animal-related...

Lol at myself. I am braindead tired from getting up before the birds (5:30!!) the last few days. I read Una's post as being reading about a horse's backside. Couldn't figure out why you were reading about horse anatomy!

Thanks for asking.

Well, she's not stoned anymore. : D

She whined some during the night and a couple of times this morning. The bump below her eye was right on the eyelid. I suspect it hurts if she bumps it. Bless her little self. She's not fussing at it so no cone of shame.

Her appetite is back with a vengeance. Poor thing was probably having flashbacks to her days of being a stray. No food from Monday dinner until Tuesday dinner. First because of upcoming surgery, then I was afraid to give her food until the sedative wore off. She inhaled the food when I fed her.

So glad the surgery went well & no tests needed on the lumps. I understand the stress of anesthesia. My vet just sedates when possible too.

Thought I'd post a pic of Miss Hazel on her way home after surgery. Tech who brought her out to me apologized and said she was "sleepy". I laughed and said she wasn't sleepy, she was stoned.

pocket riders?
