Who was gonna tell me that after my dear doggy Miky passed away last Saturday morning, I was gonna to hospitalised my female one this morning in an emergency.
I didn’t think it twice to take her to the hospital. She is having all kind of tests and all seems to point to Cushing desease. She will spend the night there and tomorrow doctors are gonna test her for this desease so he will be sure.

This night, they called me. And we go to see her tomorrow.
I’m relieve because I know she’s been supervised. But I miss her so much.

At this point, you could figure that I investigate all about Cushing desease in doggies.
Let’s wait for the best.
It’s devastating to lose one of my four legged babies but see that I have the other at risk.

Somebody here has or had a doggies diagnosed with Cushing? How are you and your loyal baby doing?

I'm so sorry your baby is sick. I don't know about Cushing's Disease. Maybe you can find some good internet articles on it.

You surely guessed that I’ve read so far a bunch of articles about this desease.
Thank you.

Yes, dear. Today, we were there at the hospital. We took her for a walk and now she’s having done a test to confirm if it’s Cushing her desease. We will know something about it later in the evening.
Hope she can come back home with us this night but if they have to take her there to begin the treatment, I’m more than happy.
I only want her to be treat by professionals and she feels right.
While she was with us, she seemed a little unattached. Maybe the lost of Miky, the other doggie or her feeling bad (although I saw her pretty stable) or because we left her there.
Anyways, it’s for her well-going.

I've had various dogs over the year. They all have reacted differently after a death of another dog. In a few cases, they really showed sadness. When our poodle May passed, we had to put her body in the second bathroom until taking her to be cremated. Our other female dog at the time, Jade, seemed to think May was her mother. She sat, guarding the door to the bathroom for hours.

She could very well be grieving the loss of her buddy.

Oh! I understand this puppy. She was her mother.

I had to leave my pupper overnight at the vet last week. It's tough. Both of you are in my thoughts.

Did you get test results yet?

Luckily, she’s already with us at home.
The test for Cushing desease was negative so we are treating her for a severe gastritis.
We are giving a try to the new treatment but we are going to be very attentive to her progress because if there’s something we don’t like, we are going to take her to a vet hospital in another city where she received a surgery to her heart when she was a puppy.

She’s looking for everywhere my doggie who passed away last Saturday. We are trying to distract her and take her out as much as possible.

Oh, when I lost my soulmate Leo, his older sister (2 years older) with doggie dementia, kept calling for him at night for several weeks. All our hearts were broken losing him. Glad the tests came back not cushings. Haven't known any dogs with it but have known several horses that had it. Care is always a challenge. Praying your baby is starting to get better

Thank you, eskielover. This story about your doggie calling for Eskie is heartbreaking.

Just now, I’m very worried because she has to take medication and she didn’t want to eat. She has to eat a soft diet and I’ve tried rice with turkey, noodles with turkey, boiled potato and carrot. And nothing.
Tonight, I tried with a digestive paté..Neither.
Tomorrow she will have revision. So let’s see if she has to be hospitalised again.
So, you can guess I have not time to grieve my doggie passing because I have my 5 senses on my other doggie.

When my doggies wouldn't eat I would add water to make it more liquid cause they didn't drink either & I would sit on the floor with them & spoon feed them out of their bowl. Seemed like the interaction of doing that helped them want to eat. I have also hadbto puree into a very liquid form & feed through a syringe. I am very hands on when it comes to the care of my babies.

Thank you for your advice. I’m also feeding her with my hands. This morning she ate a couple of spoons of paté.
The syringe is another resource to take into account if she didn’t eat today enough.

How long more or less your other doggie was grieving the loss of Eskie? Some people have told me more or less for two months.

AzulOscuro, do you have something with the scent of your dog who passed that you could give to your sick baby? Like an old blanket? Being able to snuggle with his scent might help.

Tawny was the closest to Leo (older sister). She was calling for him for about a month but then she was older & had doggie dementia so not sure how it effected her thinking or memory.

Liz has a good idea of giving her something with the scent of your doggie that passed on it. That can help.

Dogs do react differently to the passing of others. Leo (who was my soulmate from birth) actually seemed mad at me when his mommy died. She had heart failure & I had gone downstairs to make a dish to take to thanksgiving dinner that day. She died at the top of the stairs while I was downstairs & he was right there next to her when I came back upstairs. It felt like he was mad because I hadn't been there with her (maybe some of my own guilt too). That seemed to last about a week before he was back to normal. All my dogs were related from different litters we had
