Took Miss Miette to the vet today. It was supposed to just be a regular annual check up and shots.

She's had a small lump on her left ear for awhile now. It started getting bigger in the last couple months. Vet did a needle aspirate. It's a mast cell tumor. Yeah, mast cell tumor like Beeg. The vet said mast cells on cats are normally benign, but still... She's scheduled for surgery after the first of the year.

Emotionally I tossed in the towel. First Beeg. Then Hazel and the snake bite. Then Hazel's torn ACL. Now Miette. I've given myself permission to feel like chit for a bit. Not going to let myself wallow, but need to just crawl in my cave and lock my wounds for a bit.

Oh, I understand that feeling. Have been there too & it was just before Christmas. That year I just wanted to crawl under a rock & only focus on taking care of my last eskies that didn't sound like from the vet had long to live & that was at the same time I lost Leo. So hard on our emotions cause we have so much love for our babies

Thanks everyone. I'm just feeling overwhelmed right now. Need a few days to just hide in my cave. Doesn't help that I apparently caught the latest respiratory bug that's going round. Spending the day curled up on the sofa with a case of the "poor me's"

I got what felt like the typical cold last Sunday morning & now a crappy cough & sneezing again.....the worst part is that Cote demands me to have energy while I drag around my farm on our "Cote get rid of your energy" walks & come back in & crash.

While Hazel is only allowed to walk on a leash at least she doesn't have Aussie puppy energy to burn off. She is feeling well enough she wants to do zoomies she's good when I say no.

Oh, those zoomies in the house are dangerous.....outside this evening he was running so fast he finally just crashed on the ground panting....we solved the zoomie problem for tonight. He is so good & never runs off the farm without a leash but Sophie always needs a leash so I boughtba 30 ft one to give her as much freedom as possible while I still have final control. Aussie energy is exhausting when not feeling 100% healthy

Hiding is recommended for situations such as these.

I've started poking my head out of my cave. Not ready to rejoin the world yet, but not quite so overwhelmed either.

Poked my nose out of my cave Christmas Eve. Made the mistake of checking the news. That sent me to the back of my cave.

Miette's lump doesn't seem to bother her. Fingers crossed that it is benign. She's just happy with all the extra pets and loving She's getting.
