Lol....my friend with a sheep farm has a Great Dane. She headed to the house in her ATV & he ended up closed in the sheep barn. I opened the door & he came running out. He didn't go running to the house. I opened my truck door & asked him if he wanted a ride. He jumped in & we headed up to the house. Ah, I love to see the way dogs think.
Lol.....if you don't have energy & can run, an Aussie Shepherd is not a good dog to get either. I love the exercise Cote gives me & that I have a farm we can run & play on & that he loves to entertain workers that come here with his rock moving talent.....but he is definitely a hand full of energy & a huge body full of love __________________  Leo's favorite place was in the passenger seat of my truck. I love Aussies. They are such great dogs, but I don't think I have the energy for one any more. I think they are the closest thing there is to a perpetual motion critter.

I can't see anything other than Chihuahuas and Great Danes. No question about Chihuahuas. I hate those little rat-like ankle biters. Why not Danes? They are great dogs.

The great drawback with Great Danes is that they don’t live very long. That’s hard, but otherwise they are a great breed. Personally I’m against any fad buying. Frenchies are the newest fad and unless you go to a very reputable breeder you chance ending up with a dog with lots of medical issues. They are very inbreed. For a while it was Dalmatians, they need lots of space and are very energetic. People see fad dogs and get them without any real knowledge then the shelters in up with all the rejects. But I too don’t personally like chihuahua s either. I like the hearders as a whole but they are not for everyone either.

I remember when I was in college, I used to pass by this small house near the campus with three huge great danes hanging out in the window watching the world go by I couldn't imagine having three dogs like that in such a small house.
Where we live now, we sometimes order beer from a nearby craft brewery. The owner usually drops it off himself when he is heading to the nearby highway to head home. He has a great dane. Sometimes he goes with the great dane to the brewery. The first time I went outside to get my order and he had the dog, it was quite a surprise to see this huge dog in the truck! I can only see the first page too. |
