So... my oldest cat lived his full life until 21. He passed at home quietly. Of course I miss him, but he had had his life.

Not long ago my other 7 year old cat took ill, at first it seemed like a bladder infection, I took him to the vet the day after. And the illness had progressed. It was a totally different thing, called saddle thrombus, and it is very deadly. Even if you can save the cat once, it will reoccur. From having a healthy cat, I had a dying cat. I had to let the vet put him down.

It was a shocking event. I'm OK but it's too quiet at home. The dog is very depressed.

I knew I had limited time with my cat since he was not "normal", but I had pictured at least 12 years with him. He probably had Klinefelters, and in cats, small heart stuff can happen that you really can't diagnose, but if they are the bad type, they can cause clots.

Rest in peace little friend.

I'm sorry for your losses. I lost 2 cats close together a few years ago and it was really tough.

I guess I'll live. Day after my young cat died, my dad wound up in hospital very ill, so I was too worried to even grieve the cat. Now I feel like I don't remember the cat as I should.

Jimi, please be gentle with yourself. It is so hard when the blows just keep coming. You will grieve when you can.

When I had ourdoor cats, there was something at the back of my head that things could happen to them. Stupidly, I thought that inside cats are safe until old. I was pretty shocked. One day have a healthy cat that lay on my face with all his lovely fluff, and the next day deathly ill and suffering.

I miss him and I wish I knew what happens after death, if we ever see them again.
