Hazel got a thrill this afternoon. I keep her treats in a sealed container on top of the fridge to try and keep them away from Miss Miette. Apparently Miette tried to get into them today and left it on the edge of top of the fridge with the lid loose. When I opened the fridge door treats came showering down on us! There was a mad dash to see which of us could scoop up treats fastest. She spent the rest of the afternoon searching the kitchen for treats.

Many years ago, I lived in an apartment where the kitchen was connected to the living room without a door. I had a dog and a cat. Someone gave me a few small sample bags of a new dog food, which I left on top of the refrigerator. When I went out for a bit, the cat knocked them onto the floor and he and the dog managed to break open the bags and have themselves a feast.

I can just imagine those partners in crime having a blast too. I wonder who the intellectual author of the heist was. Did the cat decide to do it on his own, or did the dog suggest it?

Miette is pretty selfish about food and treats. I doubt she set it up to share.

Ha! I bet my cat Caroline would be that way, but the dog Raven might push her away. Raven loves to get to the cat food. But Caroline is not interested in the dog food.

Oh, I get the mad dash between you 2 in order to see who recovers the most treats from the floor. I am guessing if it were Cote he would just inhale them without chewing before I could even get there.
