I am struggling to not absolutely freak out. Mikey did not show up when I fed the rest of the crew dinner. He never misses a meal. It was a bit earlier than they usually eat so I thought he might be sleeping somewhere. Never showed up to eat. Spent the last hour and a half searching the house. No Mikey. Went out and walked around the yard calling him. No Mikey.
My house looks kinda like a hoarders house since I cleaned out my mom's house, but I've looked everywhere. Am sitting on the sofa cuz he likes to cuddle here with me. Going outside and check there again. I am rapidly shifting from concern to panic. Please keep us in your thoughts. |

FOUND MIKEY!!!!!!
It would be more accurate to say he found me. After another circuit of the yard, including a trip to the barn. Came in to search the house one more time. I was in tears when I told him all he had to do was let me see him so I'd know he was OK. Walked by the bathroom and there he was sprawled out on the floor. I gave him his very own church to celebrate. I know I shouldn't let myself get so worked up about stuff like this, but these are my kids. |

Oh, I get it! My guy never disappeared on me. Then about a week after he went blind I couldn’t find him. He didn’t come to eat breakfast. I looked everywhere. Then lunch time still no Sir. Then I was in the basement looking for his body, I figured he hid somewhere to die. Then I heard him meowing! I looked everywhere and finally found him up on the storage rack in the back dark corner. Somehow despite being blind he’d climbed up and found a cozy spot by the Christmas decorations. But he couldn’t see to get down. I thought of moving his litter box upstairs and keeping the basement closed off but didn’t have the heart to close off his world more than his blindness had. It never happened again. But it was only 8 months later that he crossed the rainbow bridge.

Una, he was not in the tub or shower. I checked both multiple times. I think he found a place to hide in the bedroom. Bathroom is off the bedroom.

I understand. I get really upset if I can't find one of my fur babies. I'm so glad Mikey turned up.

Thanks Trav.
I feel foolish letting myself get so upset, but, well, he's my baby. |

Oh, no need to feel foolish, we’d do anything for our fur babies. And worrying when they don’t come to eat is high on the list.
