I have made the decision to re-home two of my cats.

I am heartbroken but it must be done. However, I will NOT be seperating those two cats, I will only re-home them as a pair as they have been together since the youngest was born. Also they are mother and son. And I also will not give them to the SPCA. I will hang on to them until I find them a decent home.

The reason I made the decison is that for months now, with 3 cats in a 2 bedroom apartment, although a large apartment... it is just TOO MUCH. Plus they are peeing in the entrance to the house, because I just can't keep up with the litter boxes. And thats another thing - even with 3 litter boxes, in one day they are simply awful and need to be changed. With a 14 month old crawling around.. and my physical issues, I just cannot keep up. CPS is involved right now because of the night i spent in the hospital for S thoughts, and they are complaining and so is my family. And they are right. I just have been praying it would get better so it wouldn't come to this. But to be perfectly honest those two cats were the reason I lost my damage deposit for the last THREE apartments. Plus, honestly, with a baby and the other cat, my youngest, who is ABSOLUTELY bonded to me, I really find I do not have the time to give them the attention and care they deserve. They are Angora tabby mixes and they really should be brushed everyday and have their nails done every week and what not.. and I am ashamed but i think its been 3 months since I did that. I just don't have time.

Its heartbreaking because I have had the oldest for 8 years, and her son 6. But to be honest its sad because they dont get the attention they deserve.

I have to stop writing here because if i keep thinking about it I will start crying..I am just going to enjoy the time I have with them until i find them another home. I actually have a call into the local Rescue Ranch/no kill shelter.. I am friends with the woman who runs it and I am going to see if she will take them. Justice has always wanted to be an outdoor cat anyways.. and milo too, but i cant let him out because of cars(he chases them lol) so i think they would do good out there, and I could still see them and get updates.

Just very very sad

Sorry for your news. I am sure they will be fine. You will pick a nice home for them. It seems hard now but it will become clearer over time that you are making the right choice. Hang in there. Take care

Even though it's sad, be happy that you are making the right decision for not only yourself, but also Jeremy, and the kitties

Thank you kaika. That is what I am trying to focus on. They will be happier and free, and if the shelter takes them, VERY well cared for. They will be able to live their lives out there.

Oh sweetie how heartwrenching this must be. But at least you know that they will be going to good homes. You must do what is best for you and for the cats.

aww Hon I know how hard it is to rehome animals but you have to do the best you can for your family. I am sure you will find a great home for them and it will be better for ALL of you!!! Try to think of the positives of the rehoming. ~gentle hugs~

I think you are very brave to make the decision you have. It's very sad, but it's really in their best interest, so it is ultimately a generous act on your part. I've had to make a similar decision. It's hard. I feel for you.
