I was going through my blood test results and found one with high fasting glucose level all in red color and a warning that I am prediabetic! I freaked out. Wrote to my endocrinoligist (I have one because of my thyroid) but it was the weekend and she did not respond right away. I was convinced I was prediabetic, I read everything on the internet about it and it all spelled trouble - even if you lose weight and become active, you are only diminishing, not erasing, the risk.

They she writes to me that I am fine - that test was taken at noon after I must have eaten; the real fasting level taken later is normal. Relief.

But if definitely shook me. I got out the exercise clothing and headed to the little gym in my complex. It has always been there, but for a year I have not gone (why? a big question). I went onto the rowing machine - the treadmill was broken. I like rowing but it was SO hard, I did only 10 minutes and burned a puny number of calories and was exhausted. Unbelievable. It is SO hard to resume doing something...
Thanks for this!

I just saw Rosie O'Donnell is losing some weight and she didn't understand how the treadmill wasn't a better way of burning calories versus the bike. her trainer was off camera saying that biking builds more muscle and it's a better fat burner. I was surprised (as was Rosie).

you're lucky you have a gym in your building. I have a one-room condo (680 square feet) so no room for equipment in my place and no gym in my building....

Yes, I am lucky. I just did not use the luck factor. That was stupid. So many moments of hating my looks and self could have been avoided. And your posts reminds me to get my bike (real one) fixed!
Thanks for this!
